Mike Lupica is an author (and former newspaper columnist), enjoyed by sports fans for many years in the New York Daily News. He is also known for his many appearances on the all-sports-all-the-time ESPN network. Everyone knows who James Patterson is. Their latest endeavor is The Hamptons Lawyer,  a crime novel/thriller collaboration. 

The Patterson/Lupica collaboration (which has become a series – YAY!)  features a strong female protagonist, attorney Jane Smith. Set in The Hamptons, which is renowned  for its beautiful beaches, luxury lifestyle, and exclusive legal advice (ahem – Jane Smith), the story revolves around Jane’s new client. Of course things don’t go smoothly, and Jane  soon finds herself being followed, shot at, and generally harassed.

Thanks to Little, Brown. & Company and NetGalley for an advance copy in exchange for this honest review. I enjoyed this even more than 12 months to live. Four and a half stars (not QUITE a 5, but a very enjoyable read).
