Having recently watched and enjoyed The Night Agent on Netflix, which is based on a book by Matthew Quirk, I was pleased to receive a copy of his latest book, The Method, from William Morrow and NetGalley in exchange for this honest review.
This time, the protagonist is an actress named Anna Vaughn, whose best friend Natalie disappears after a night out with a mysterious new man…and everything seems to suggest foul play. As if that weren’t enough, apparently spies are operating in Manhattan. Anna takes advantage of learning some investigative tricks preparing for her roles and she applies them in her hunt for Natalie.
She learns reality is not the same as acting as she encounters an FBI agent who is basically working in the same area, exploring the world of oligarchs. Anna ends up going undercover, and the chase is on!
This is a fun read, and I plan to seek out more of Mr. Quirk’s work. Four stars.
